New Champion: Nilah
Hello everyone! I’m Riot Koyuncu, one of the QA Engineers on League’s Champions team.
Nilah, the Joy Unbound, should be hitting PBE really soon! I’ll be using this thread to post announcements and collect your player feedback. We’ve got about a week before we have to lock any proposed changes for her release, so I’ll be monitoring common suggestions in the comments to share back with the team for possible adjustments.
If you encounter any in-game bugs while playing Nilah or her Star Guardian skin, please let us know by heading over to our Bug Reporting Tool and providing any information on the issue. Providing repro steps or a video clip are incredibly helpful at debugging.

PBE Update 6/24:
Adjustments to the Star Guardian splash art are incoming – expect a finalized version posted soon!
Lots of lots of bug fixing. Notable mentions include:
Casting Jubilant Veil (W) no longer allows Nilah to dodge turret shots
Nilah’s passive now has a max duration (e.g. no more infinite Yuumi shields)
Tooltip and buff icon issues have been corrected
Non-primary targets hit by Nilah Q’s empowered auto attacks are now treated the same as the primary target (so they’re able to be crit)

Post PBE cycle update:
After internal discussions we decided to make following changes based on your suggestions:
– Similarly to previous Star Guardian skins, this year’s Star Guardian theme will also play upon loading into the game.
– Hair size tuned down
– Face expression changed to make him look more friendly
– Auto attack SFX adjusted to better fit weapon he’s using
– Saturation and hue adjusted on his chest to make the gem standout more
– Waist belt tightened and should now stick out less
I also want to share a little bit of context for other frequently commented aspects that were not changed:
While we were able to tune in-game face expression for Ekko, unfortunately adding additional elements like props or painting in his face was over the scope we could plan for this time.
The same is true for adjusting shape and size of the pants.
The team also felt that the VFX are already quite noisy and pushing it further might cause clarity problems.

After internal discussions we decided to make following changes based on your suggestions:
– Similarly to previous Star Guardian skins, this year’s Star Guardian theme will also play upon loading into the game.
– Face expression changed to make him look more friendly
– Hairline moved a little bit down to make his forehead a smaller
– Shoes made a little brighter
– Auto attack SFX adjusted to better fit weapon he’s using (same as on SG Ekko)
Also, the same case as for Star Guardian Ekko, adding additional elements like props or face painting was over the scope we could plan for this time.

UPDATE
After evaluating the feedback, we’ve made the following updates to Star Guardian Kai’Sa per your feedback:
Rigging/Animation
Adjusted her hair to reduce the stiffness.
Adjusted her run to be more bouncy, rotation in the hips, and more left and right movement.
Added a spin animation to her homeguard to really give that Star Guardian feel!
Improvements on her animation transitions.
Updated her dance to improve her gestures a bit.
Joke/Recall animations are more polished.
Visual Effects
SG Kai’Sa now has a small transformation sequence in her Recall. She now also changes into her slightly brighter form and stays in that form for a few seconds after; successfully recalling to base, casting her (R), and respawning
We adjusted her ribbons to make them more unique.
Added additional VFX to her evolves to make them feel more empowering.
Her ankle asset will now show during her (E) evolve.
Sound Effects
Adjusted the On Hits for her basic attack with a bit more high end sparkles.
Similarly to previous Star Guardian skins this year’s Star Guardian theme will also play upon loading into the game.
Splash
Her Splash Art has received some adjustments to align facial likeness to other depictions.
Icon
Her icon has been updated to reflect a closer face shape.

We always appreciate hearing from you all so thank you for taking the time to give us your thoughts, especially when they are so clear and actionable! As we’ve worked to make adjustments based on your feedback, we wanted to share some context on our end around the changes we’ve made, as well as some of the requests we couldn’t accommodate.
While we were happy to make many changes based on awesome suggestions here, some suggestions we received either conflicted with other player feedback or with internal craft expertise, and others conflicted with our internal standards around gameplay clarity.

We have received a lot of great feedback and appreciate everyone that presented their thoughts in a way that’s most helpful for us. Some suggestions conflicted with other player sentiments or with internal craft expertise, others, such as, adding vfx to her abilities/aura where we were already pushing her memory budget and adding additional changes to her model, are out of scope for a PBE change. Thanks everyone for providing your feedback. We’ve discussed it with the team and will be applying the following changes:
Model:
We’ve added more saturation in the mouth area and glow to the eyes.
We’ve delineated the fingers more so the hands read more clearly.
We’ve increased the size of the scythe (both the blade and the handle.)
We’ve fix the issue with the double familiar on Fiddlestick’s death.
VFX:
We’ve adjusted the R to be more chaotic and lowered the hierarchy of the inner stars for gameplay readability.
We’ve slightly adjusted the W to get a stronger inward draining motion.
We’ve fix the missing VFX on potential fear targets for the R when ulting out of enemy vision.
SFX:
We’ve added a new sound for the final tick of the W.
Music:
We’ll be fixing the Star Guardian Music for the initial spawn.

Update 30th June 2020:
Thank you to everybody for your feedback. The team had a discussion and decided not to make any changes.
We looked into giving the other Star Guardians the monochromatic theme but decided to keep it as it is as doing this would make all the chromas look too similar to each other.
The reason this could be done with Star Guardian Sona Chromas is that Star Guardian Sona herself has a big white weapon with a huge surface area, and white wings, which fits the ‘Star Guardian’ theme.

Ultimate Spellbook is now enabled on the PBE.
There’s a few new additions and improvements for this release. Two you’ll see immediately: It’s now a pick 1 of 4 and there’s also some ults with a passive bonus.
The increase in number of selections is to let you still chase specific combinations (or just that Cho’gath Ult) and have a reasonable chance of seeing them even as the number of available ults increases.
The reasoning behind the bonuses are more subtle. It’s the same for all ults that receive it: 10 Adaptive Force, Armor, and MR that grows to 40 by level 18. It turns on as soon as the ult first comes off cooldown.The bonus is placed specifically on ults that have struggled to keep up with the big combat ults or ults that let you secure an early kill.
You’ll also notice that we’re re-enabling a number of ults we’ve disabled in past runs for being too weak. This bonus lets us do that. 4/4
